Rural Landholder's Guide to Environmental Law in NSW
Armidale Dumaresq Council has received a handy little booklet, published by the Environmental Defender's Office (NSW), titled 'Rural Landholder's Guide to Environmental Law in NSW'. A variety of subjects and legislation is covered, including management of vegetation, waste, fire, protected plants and animals and agricultural chemicals. Environmental Trust Funding for 2009
The Environmental Trust is an independent statutory body established by the NSW government to support exceptional environmental projects that do not receive funds from the usual government sources. The Trust is empowered under the Environmental Trust Act 1998, and its main responsibility is to make and supervise the expenditure of grants. The Trust is administered by the Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC).
The Trust is offering ten competitive grant programs in 2009 up to a value of $6.75 million. All grant programs open on 21 March 2009 however closing dates are staggered. To view a full list of grants available, or for more information, please visit the Environmental Trust web page.
