Introduction to the Library

The Armidale Dumaresq Council War Memorial Library is open as follows:
| Weekdays | 10am - 6pm |
| Saturday | 10am - 1pm |
The Library was established in 1949 under the New South Wales Library Act. This Act ensures:
- Free access to certain materials on the library premises to all
- Free membership to local residents and ratepayers
- Free loans of certain materials to members
- Free delivery to sick or disabled members who cannot reasonably be expected to attend the library in person
- Free basic reference services
The Library Regulation attached to the Act encourages users to care for the library materials that are available, and to be aware of the needs of others while using the building and its collections. The Act and Regulation can both be accessed online through Parliamentary Council's Office or the Australian Legal Information Institute
