Refugee Week Celebrations come to Armidale Library
The contribution of 700,000 refugees who have made Australia their home over the last 60 years will be acknowledged this month as the nation celebrates Refugee Week.
Refugee Week will be held nationally from Sunday, June 15 to Saturday June 21, incorporating the International Celebration of Refugee Day on June 20.
As part of these celebrations, the Armidale Dumaresq Library in conjunction with Northern Settlement Services New England and Armidale Sanctuary Humanitarian Settlement will host a display and presentation on Friday 20 June at 10:30am. The guest speaker is Robin Jones from the Armidale Sanctuary Humanitarian Settlement. Her talk will cover a range of topics concerning refugees.
Refugee Week has been celebrated nationally each year since 1986.
