If you’ve have walked past Kent House in Faulkner Street recently you may have noticed a few changes.
The old timber fence has been removed and on the inside there is an all-new reception area and waiting-room, complete with a whole new colour scheme.
Aged and Disability Services Team Leader Chris Foord said while many residents may have noticed the visible changes, there have also been a number of behind the scenes changes that aim to improve the provision of services.
“What you probably would not have seen is that Armidale's community centre for older persons and people with disabilities is now able to provide users with the latest computer capabilities, with activities areas being wired for data networking and the Centre fully linked into the Council’s IT network,” Mrs Foord said.
With the new technology came new phone numbers for staff. Mrs Foord can now be contacted for information on services on 6770 3804. Administrative Assistant Zoe Smith, who provides room bookings and reception, is now on 6770 3832. Stephanie Watts, our Dementia Respite Co-ordinator is now on 6770 3828 and Recreation Access Officer, Steve Austin, can be reached on 6770 3828.
Other co- located services at Kent House, such as Armidale Care for Seniors and Care for Children with Disabilities, have not changed their phone numbers.
For further information regarding Aged and Disability Services, contact Chris Foord on 6770 3804.
