ARC shines new light on Lynces Road Netball Courts

State-of-the-art outdoor lighting has been installed at the Lynches Road Netball Courts in Armidale significantly improving the playing experience, safety, and visibility for athletes and spectators alike.

Using modern technology, users will now have access to instant lighting at the touch of a button from their mobile phones.

Council secured $350K in funding from the NSW Government’s Regional Sport Facility Fund 2020/21.While this project was officially completed earlier in the year and the lights have been in use for some time now, Council is taking the opportunity to acknowledge the NSW Office of Sport for financially supporting this project by announcing the official finalisation of construction.

Key features of the lighting system include:

• Enhanced Visibility: The advanced lighting system has been designed to ensure excellent visibility across the entire Netball court. Athletes will experience improved visibility of the ball and surroundings, resulting in better gameplay and reduced risks of injury.
• Energy Efficiency: The lighting system incorporates energy-efficient LED technology, significantly reducing the energy consumption and minimising the environmental impact. This installation is aligned with Armidale Regional Council’s commitment to sustainability and energy conservation in our region.
• Durability and Reliability: The lighting system is built to withstand the rigors of outdoor use, ensuring long-lasting performance and minimal maintenance requirements. It is designed to operate under various weather conditions, guaranteeing reliable illuminations for all netball events.

“The state-of-the-art lighting has allowed for more competitive competitions to be played in the region under lights,” said Armidale Regional Council (ARC) Mayor Sam Coupland.

“Council is thrilled to have contributed to the improvement of the Lynches Road Netball Courts with our cutting-edge outdoor lighting solution.

“The upgraded lighting has not only enhanced the playing experience but also attracted more players and spectators, further nurturing the local netball community."

The lighting installation at the Lynches Road Netball Courts is part of ARC’s ongoing commitment to sports infrastructure development and creating a vibrant community space. It has served as a catalyst for increased participation in netball, encouraging active and healthy lifestyles among residents of all ages.
