Weed Alert: Harrisia Cactus Found in the Armidale
Three Harrisia cactus plants have recently been detected in the Armidale region. This invasive weed is an eradication species on the Northern Tablelands and can spread rapidly through seeds, stem fragments and underground tubers. Residents are urged to watch for suspicious cacti and report sightings to Council to help prevent its establishment in our region.
