Armidale Creeklands Restoration Project

Council is restoring the Armidale Creeklands precinct opposite Armidale Tafe and the area around Monckton Aquatic Centre as part of Armidale Creeklands Master Plan The aim of the Master Plan is to create a family-oriented precinct with opportunities for passive and active recreation.

Armidale East Mall redevelopment

At the Ordinary Council meeting held on 22 May 2024, Council endorsed the East Mall Detailed Concept Design Plans which will see the area of Beardy Street commonly known as ‘The East Mall’ transformed into a vibrant new public space.

Bradley Street water main renewal project

Armidale Regional Council is undertaking essential water infrastructure works on Bradley Street, between Moredun Street and Mackenzie Street, to improve the reliability and performance of the local water supply.

Bridge renewal project

Council has implemented a Bridge Renewal Strategy that since 2017 has been progressively replacing aged timber bridges throughout the Armidale region with new concrete structures. With 31 structures originally identified under the program, we have completed 13 construction upgrades with 18 timber bridge structures remaining.

Digital Water Meter Project

Armidale Regional Council has reached a major milestone in its Digital Water Meter Project, with more than 9,200 digital water meters now installed or upgraded across Armidale and Guyra. The approximately $4.5 million project, fully funded through Council's water fund.

Former Armidale Gas Works off-site remediation

Guyra WTP critical upgrade and maintenance from 8-12 December 2025

This week, Guyra Water Treatment Plant will be temporarily out of service to dismantle and install a new Aluminium Sulfate (Alum) dosing unit, a critical component of the water treatment process. The team will also undertake a deep clean of the treatment plant while it is off-line.
