Tree management

Trees and vegetation play a vital role in the environmental health, visual amenity, and social and economic wellbeing of the Armidale region. They contribute to the character of our towns and landscapes, provide shade and habitat, support biodiversity, and enhance the liveability of our neighbourhoods for residents and visitors alike.

Council recognises the importance of protecting and maintaining trees and bushland across the region and has an important role in managing these assets on behalf of the community. This includes ensuring trees remain healthy, safe, and appropriate for their location, while preserving the natural and scenic qualities that are valued by our residents.

In all cases, Council aims to take a considered and balanced approach that acknowledges the significant benefits trees provide, while responsibly managing risks and impacts for the wider community.
