Nominate "Unsung Heroes" for Australia Day Awards

Do you know a person or group that goes above and beyond for their local community? Armidale Regional Council (ARC) is on the lookout for unsung heroes to be nominated for the 2025 Australia Day Awards.
Council will be celebrating individuals and groups that make the community a better place with their outstanding contribution in the areas of education, health, fundraising, charitable and voluntary services, business, sport, arts and the environment at the 2025 Australia Day Awards.
The 2025 Armidale categories include:
- Citizen of the Year
- Senior Citizen/Elder of the Year
- Community Service Award
- Art, Drama, or Music Award
- Environmental Citizen of the Year
- Community Group/Event of the Year
- Sports Person of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
“The Australia Day Awards are a chance for Council to honour the remarkable achievements of those in our community who dedicate their time and energy to making a difference,” said ARC Mayor Sam Coupland.
“We want to see all deserving individuals and groups nominated for these awards that celebrate the hard work that so many individuals and groups in our community undertake.
“Our region has so many great individuals and organisations that make an outstanding contribution to community services and we want to celebrate the unsung heroes of our community who through their contributions make our region a better place.
“There are categories for all ages and areas from Citizen of the Year to Community Group of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year. So, if you know a person or group who deserves some recognition then get online and nominate them for these awards today.”
The Armidale and Guyra Australia Day Awards nominations are now open through the online nomination form HERE
