Do you know an unsung hero of the community who volunteers their time for a great cause or organisation? Why not nominate them for the Armidale Regional Council (ARC) 2025 New England Regional Volunteer Awards.

The awards provide organisations with a means to show their appreciation to volunteers and demonstrate the amazing things volunteers have been doing in the local community over the past year.

“Recognising volunteers through these awards is a small way to say thank you for the big impact they have on our community,” said ARC Mayor Sam Coupland.

“Their efforts inspire others to give back and keep the spirit of service alive. Apart from highlighting the value an organisation places on its volunteers, these awards also provide a platform to showcase the work of the organisations they volunteer for.”

Jane Davies, ARC volunteer centre co-ordinator, said a few minutes spent filling out an award nomination could both help retain volunteers and promote organisations.

“This year the New England Regional Volunteer Awards will again be linked to the NSW Volunteer of the Year Award,” said Ms Davies.

“This means that nominees can choose to have their nomination forwarded to the State Award by ticking a box.”
