Global Gathering highlight of 2025 Autumn Festival

Armidale’s multicultural community will be celebrated as part of the new Global Gathering event that will be a highlight of the 2025 Autumn Festival program on Saturday April 5.

Held on the stage in Civic Park after the completion of the Autumn Festival Parade, Global Gathering, which is an initiative of Mosaic Multicultural Connections and jointly funded by Multicultural NSW and Armidale Regional Council, will feature a feast of entertainment including Bollywood dancers, a global fashion show, Ezidi music and Sudanese dancers among other international acts.

“The new Global Gathering event will be one of many exciting inclusions in this year’s Autumn Festival and will be a celebration of our diverse and multicultural community,” said Armidale Regional Council (ARC) Mayor Sam Coupland.

“Some amazing performers will be taking to the stage after the iconic Autumn Festival parade and the community will be able to sit back and enjoy these fabulous performances in the beautiful surrounds of Civic Park.

“The Autumn Festival is always a highlight of our region’s events calendar, and I strongly encourage the community to take part in the parade and enjoy the festivities in the park after.”

The theme of the 2025 festival will again be a celebration of Autumn and Council is expecting an impressive lineup of floats and community groups filling the streets when the parade kicks off at 12 noon. And it’s not too late to get your float application in if you want to take part.

More than 40 market stalls and food vans will be in Civic Park for the community to enjoy once the parade is finished and during the Global Gathering event.

Another highlight of this year’s festival will be Freedom Formation flyover at 11.45am. This group is made up of 13 passionate aviators and will perform its signature multi-layer display routine over Armidale before the Autumn Festival parade begins at 12 noon.

All eyes will be on the sky over Armidale during the routine that will see 12 Vans RVs and 1 Yak 55 performing amazing aerobatic displays.
