Keen to learn how best to source and apply for funding that supports your project or activity?

Individuals, community groups, clubs, and organisations are invited to take advantage of this free community grant writing workshop to be led by Margot Davis. Margot is an Economic Development Practitioner, Marketing and Place-making expert who has written many successful grants, tenders and proposals.

This hands-on Grant Writing Workshop will give community organisations, volunteers, and local leaders the tools and confidence to turn great project ideas into successful funding applications. Participants will learn the essentials of the grant writing process - from planning and defining a project, to drafting strong applications, to managing grants after submission. With a focus on real-world opportunities like the FRRR Small & Vital program, the workshop will provide practical exercises, templates, and examples tailored to the needs of rural and regional communities.

Alongside step-by-step guidance, the workshop will introduce how AI tools can support grant writing by saving time, improving structure, and strengthening proposals while keeping a community voice. Participants will leave with a draft project summary, a clearer understanding of funder expectations, and practical strategies to manage reporting and follow-up. This is an ideal opportunity to build grant writing skills, share experiences, and connect with others working to strengthen our region.

This workshop is delivered and funded by Armidale Regional Council. It follows Council's successful 2023 Community Grant Writing Workshop proudly funded by NSW Reconstruction Authority Community Recovery Program and 2024 Community Grant Writing Workshop proudly funded by Armidale Regional Council.
