Armidale Regional Airport

Airport Upgrade.JPG

Armidale Airport is six kilometres from the city centre and is operated by Armidale Regional Council.  It has daily return passenger flights to Brisbane and Sydney, with onward connections to Asia, North America, Europe and throughout Australia.

A $10 million upgrade of Armidale Regional Airport was completed in December 2017, creating a new terminal building with improved check-in, baggage handling, food and beverage and retail facilities, as well as enhanced parking.

Security screening

Security screening is in place for Qantas passengers at Armidale Regional Airport. All luggage, including checked-in luggage and carry-on items go through a thorough screening process before departure.

This streamlines the travel process for those with connecting flights, as passengers are not required to go through security screening again once they arrive in Sydney or Brisbane. Security screening greatly enhances safety for both passengers and airline crews.

The installation of the specialist security equipment was made possible by a $1.8 million grant from the Australian Government's Aviation and Maritime Safety and Security Program.

Parking

Armidale Regional Airport carpark offers free parking for up to two hours - to assist with pick-up and drop-off, and provide flexibility for those utilising the Airport Conference Room or Cafe.

Longer term parking does incur a fee to improve the availability of parking for airport users and provide a more equitable mix of income for the regional facility.

Parking fees:

  • Up to two hours free
  • $14 per day or part thereof - carpark A, adjacent to terminal - paid via EasyPark app (EasyPark adds a small fee to that charge)
  • $12 per day or part thereof - carpark B, longer term parking - paid via EasyPark app (EasyPark adds a small fee to that charge)

EasyPark app - 12-month trial

  • If you need to park your car at the Armidale Regional Airport, download the EasyPark app - available via the App Store or Google Play.
  • EasyPark includes functionality to help users identify available parking spots. The app also sends reminders when the parking session is about to expire. This is helpful if passengers’ flights have been delayed or cancelled. Users can extend parking time directly from their phone - especially handy when running late returning to your vehicle.

Additional parking is available onsite at Edwards Secure Car Park, which is monitored for security and offers paid parking 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Phone 1800 747 800 or 0421 519 181 for parking fees and other information about Edwards Secure Car Park.
