Are you over 18 and live in the Armidale Regional Council area in your own home?
Would you like to replace your wood heater with clean, efficient heating?
If so, you’re invited to participate in a research trial of a wood heater replacement program. The trial is called ‘Making the Switch’, and is a joint project between Armidale Regional Council and the University of Tasmania.
As part of the program, you’ll receive up to $3,000 from us to replace your wood heater with a reverse cycle air conditioner. You’ll also receive a free energy efficiency audit of your home.
You’ll also have a chance to contribute your views on what makes wood heater replacement programs work well. As part of participating, you’ll have a short interview with the research team before and after having your wood heater replaced. The researchers will also track the temperatures in your home before and after the replacement.
By sharing your experiences in these ways, you will help the research team – and Armidale Regional Council - understand how to design the best possible wood heater replacement programs for your community. Ultimately, this will help create a safer and healthier community, with cleaner air for everyone to enjoy.
