Weighbridge 2 installation project

We are pleased to provide an update on the second weighbridge installation at Armidale Waste Management Facility (Long Swamp Road), aimed at improving the overall experience for all users. The addition of the second weighbridge will bring significant benefits, including:

• Improved safety: By allowing incoming and outgoing weights to be measured on two separate bridges, we can reduce congestion and enhance safety for all users.
• Enhanced traffic flow: Vehicles will no longer need to reverse onto the weighbridge, improving overall traffic conditions at the facility.
• Increased data accuracy: The second weighbridge will help improve the accuracy of data for compliance and resource recovery reporting.
• Consistent waste disposal charges: Every vehicle entering the facility will be weighed, ensuring a uniform approach to waste disposal charges.

16 September 2024- onsite work commenced on

3 March 2025- the concrete slab has been poured and is curing, ready for the delivery of the weighbridge this week.

 

6 March 2025– weighbridge beams delivered and installed on site

 

28 March 2025– weighbridge deck poured and will cure for 28 days before the electrical components are installed

While these improvements will greatly enhance the facility, we kindly ask for your patience as there may be short delays when entering or leaving the facility. Please drive slowly and follow any instructions from Waste Facility staff to ensure the safety and smooth operation of the site.
