Weighbridge 2 Now Officially Open at Armidale Waste Management Facility!

The second weighbridge at AWMF (Long Swamp Road) is now fully operational — a major upgrade designed to improve the overall experience for all users.

This project brings significant benefits:

• Improved safety: By allowing incoming and outgoing weights to be measured on two separate bridges, we can reduce congestion and enhance safety for all users.
• Enhanced traffic flow: Vehicles will no longer need to reverse onto the weighbridge, improving overall traffic conditions at the facility.
• Increased data accuracy: The second weighbridge will help improve the accuracy of data for compliance and resource recovery reporting.
• Consistent waste disposal charges: Every vehicle entering the facility will be weighed, ensuring a uniform approach to waste disposal charges.

16 September 2024- onsite work commenced on

3 March 2025- the concrete slab has been poured and is curing, ready for the delivery of the weighbridge this week.

 

6 March 2025– weighbridge beams delivered and installed on site

 

28 March 2025– weighbridge deck poured and will cure for 28 days before the electrical components are installed

10 September 2025- Official Opening of the second weighbridge
