Wirruna Street water main upgrade

Project Purpose:
To replace the existing ageing water main, which has reached the end of its service life and has experienced multiple bursts, leaks and water flow issues.

Scope of Works:

• Install a new 100mm PVC water main along the northern side of Wirruna Street.
• Install a new 63mm poly pipeline along sections of the southern side.
• Replace existing property water connections with new copper service lines.
• Connect the new pipelines to the town water network.
• Remove dead ends from the network to improve water reticulation and water quality.
• Relocate the water main to footpath areas to make future maintenance easier.
