The winter chill didn’t stop Armidale region’s children from diving into creativity, curiosity, and community exploration, thanks to a vibrant school holiday program led by Armidale and Guyra Libraries and the Armidale Folk Museum.
The libraries offered a jam-packed schedule of activities that sparked imagination and learning for children of all ages. From arts and crafts to LEGO building, science experiments to songwriting, and even computer programming and virtual reality in the makerspace. There was something for every young mind!
Meanwhile, Armidale Folk Museum team added a touch of mystery and adventure with a cross-community treasure hunt. Children followed a Morse code trail of clues through the Armidale Folk Museum, Armidale Library, and the Visitor Information Centre - turning local landmarks into puzzle pieces in a city-wide quest.
“Council’s school holiday programs are designed to be inclusive, educational, and most importantly, fun,” said Armidale Regional Council Mayor Sam Coupland.
“The team does a great job coming up with fresh and interesting activities. It’s wonderful to see so many families getting involved and children discovering new interests.”
Feedback from participants and parents has been overwhelmingly positive, with many already looking forward to the next round of activities.
