Armidale Regional Council’s Engagement Team recently met with the Guyra Progress Association (GPA) to discuss the region’s current Level 2 water restrictions and the importance of conserving our shared water supply.

With dry conditions continuing and water storage levels under pressure, Council is encouraging all residents to stay within the recommended 170 litres per person per day and adopt simple water‑saving habits. The meeting provided an opportunity to share updates, answer questions and explore ways to strengthen local communication about the restrictions.

The Guyra Progress Association has long been a valued community partner, and during the meeting they expressed their full support for Council’s water conservation efforts. GPA members also committed to helping spread the word throughout the community, including sharing information with their families, friends and wider networks.

Council highlighted the need for consistent, clear messaging so residents understand what Level 2 restrictions mean and how small daily actions such as shorter showers, full laundry loads and turning off taps when not in use can make a meaningful difference.

Council thanks the Guyra Progress Association for their ongoing commitment to the community. By working together, we can protect our water supply and reduce the risk of more severe restrictions in the future.
