Conceptual Portrait Photography Short Course

Join Mike Terry for a four-part short course to produce a researched and executed portrait or portrait series.

This course will be as applied and hands-on as possible, with the goal of refining the project over the course duration and bringing a finished work to the final session for review and feedback.

Session 1: Elements of strong portraiture, composition, lighting, etc. the portrait series and photo essay. Options in cameras and methods.

Session 2: Lighting. Using natural light, colour temperature, artificial light. Brainstorming a project.

Session 3: Refining the project, executing the project, w/ feedback of progress.

Session 4: Feedback rounds on final outputs (show & tell)

This course is designed for those who have an existing practice with photography and basic understanding of their camera, or other artists who are wanting to use photography in their practice.
