NECOM Homestead Concert - Langford, Walcha

Step into the elegance of a bygone era as NECOM’s Homestead & Woolshed Concert Series returns to the historic Langford Homestead for an afternoon of exceptional live music.

Set just south of Walcha on the site of John Oxley’s 1818 campsite, Langford provides a truly distinctive backdrop. This grand red-brick homestead, completed in 1904, features sweeping verandahs, a striking central tower and beautifully maintained gardens—offering an intimate and atmospheric setting for performance.

This year’s program brings together three outstanding artists—soprano Hester Wright, violinist Joanna Fairs-Wu, and guitarist Andrew French-Northam—in a collaboration that spans centuries of music. Audiences can expect a rich and uplifting repertoire, from the early works of Hildegard von Bingen through to composers of the 20th and 21st centuries.

The program includes works by Mauro Giuliani, Nicolo Paganini, Enrique Granados, Astor Piazzolla, Hildegard von Bingen, Barbara Strozzi, John Dowland, Giulio Caccini and Ralph Vaughan Williams.
