Painting with Watercolour

For beginners and intermediate painters

Painting with Watercolour will introduce participants to several basic techniques. In the workshop we will look at the preparation of paper ready for painting, how to control your brush and different methods of application and the mixing and blending of colour.

Julia’s favourite medium is watercolour paint for its versatility in all subject matter.

About Julia

Since her gift of painting gear as a teenager, Julia has always enjoyed art making. Her arts career included primary and secondary school teaching.

She taught Visual Art at secondary school level. As the education coordinator for New England Regional Art Museum school groups were introduced to exhibitions and practical art classes. Talks on artists current artwork and also art history were fundamental in cooperation with the Board of Studies curriculum.

Tuition in watercolour technique was provided in her home studio for many years.

Julia’s home studio is a venue for many open garden and gallery fundraising events.
