Public hearing | Caroline Crescent reclassification proposal

Armidale Regional Council is holding a public hearing about proposed changes to land at 7–9 Caroline Crescent, Armidale.

The hearing is an opportunity for community members to speak directly with an independent person, ask questions and expand on any submissions already made about Planning Proposal No. 27.

The proposal seeks to reclassify the land from Community to Operational and amend zoning controls to support future residential use for affordable housing purposes.

This public hearing follows the earlier exhibition period and provides an additional opportunity for the community to share feedback in an open, public forum.

If you would like to ‘have your say’ and address the independent chair at the public hearing, you must register at council@armidale.nsw.gov.au or by mail to PO Box 75A Armidale NSW 2350, by COB on Monday 25 May 2026.

Each address is to be no longer than four (4) minutes and will be limited to a maximum of five (5) speakers in support of the planning proposal and five (5) against the planning proposal.

Following the ‘have your say’ session, there will be an additional opportunity to ask questions and clarify any matters with the independent chair.

Following the hearing, an independent report will be prepared for Council’s consideration, summarising the matters raised by the community.
