Are you looking for ideas to save energy at home, create beautiful spaces to live in, adapt or extend your present house or just to meet other locals and see how they’ve incorporated sustainable ideas into their house or renovation?
Sustainable Living Armidale (SLA) is holding its seventh Sustainable House Tour - an opportunity to look at a range of local houses, with a variety of sustainable features, and have conversations with their owners and with each other.
This year there are 7 Armidale houses on this year's tour, with a variety of sizes and ages, but all demonstrating aspects of sustainability. Each house will be open for a two-hour slot on both Saturday and Sunday. There is also a tour of the Uniplan factory here in Armidale, where they can build and furnish a home at the rate of one a day.
To join the Tour, purchase a booklet in advance, which includes a map, timetable and descriptions of the houses. Booklets are $20 each (for a carload of people) and can be purchased at Boobooks in Armidale Mall, or at Double Drop Espresso in the East Mall. Cash only.
