"Creatures from the In-Between" joint exhibition

A fun joint exhibition by Trish Donald and Raph Roberts, combines Trish's creatures and Raph's watercolour artworks are a response.

Step into the curious world of the In-Between and meet a quiet troupe of odd, endearing beings. Lovingly cobbled together from tins, cardboard scraps, L-plates, and other found objects, these innocent and quirky fellows quietly observe us as we go about or own – and to them, sometimes odd – lives.

Trish Donald is a children’s illustrator, author and educator who designs creative learning experiences—from playful workshops to interactive media for adult education. She has a background in graphic design, art, and teaching.

Raph
In this series, the quirky beings of the In-Between are reimagined in delicate watercolour. Placed in quiet, atmospheric scenes, they emerge from light and shadow – less as objects and more as presences. These gentle figures now inhabit a world where light tells stories and stillness holds meaning.

Raph Roberts is a local watercolour artist and learning media developer with a background in animation, computer graphics and teaching. His work explores the intersection of different mediums and visual styles.
