Home Library Service

Finding it difficult getting to the library because you are housebound? We can come to you!

If you are unable to come to the library or carry books home due to age, illness or disability, then our Home Library service may be a great option for you.

This free service for library members provides fortnightly or monthly home deliveries, depending on your needs.

Our friendly Home Library Service staff will talk to you about your eligibility (based on where you live) and discuss the types of materials and books you would like to have delivered to your home.

Full-time carers of housebound members are also eligible for the service.

You have the ability to choose from a wide range of material such as:

  • Fiction & non-fiction items
  • Large-print books
  • Talking books (great option if your eyesight is poor)
  • Specific titles and authors
  • Daisy Players
  • DVDs such as movies, musicals, documentaries & TV series
  • Magazines
  • Items in languages other than English

Staff are available to assist with setting up access to library digital resources such as BorrowBox - this is by appointment only.

Armidale Regional Library ensures the confidentiality of Home Library Service members is maintained at all times. Staff will not generally enter your home but interact with you at the front door.

If you are interested in our home library or any information services please phone the library on (02) 6770 3636.
