In-kind support for community groups, organisations and businesses

Community groups and organisations needing goods, services or expertise to help get their project or event off the ground, can apply for in-kind support from Armidale Regional Council thanks to a simple, formalised application system.

In‑kind support is the donation of goods, services, time or expertise instead of cash. This may include access to council equipment like marquees or chairs, venue hire assistance, technical and other advice, waste services, or other resources that help reduce project costs.

The opportunity to access in-kind support from council is not new, but to simplify and clarify the process, from March 2026 applications will be assessed at set times throughout the year.

Whether it’s a small community event, a village improvement project, a cultural activity or a new service for residents, council’s in‑kind support program aims to help community groups, not‑for‑profit organisations, arts and cultural organisations, sporting clubs and local service providers bring their projects and events to life.

To apply for in-kind support, identify which support round may be appropriate, and then complete the SmartyGrants application at the link.

Applications will be assessed, and support may be allocated. Projects that help to meet the goals of the Community Strategic Plan and Council’s Delivery Plan are prioritised, and in-kind support is offered when council staffing and resources are available.
